I finally did it.
I finally read Crave, and it took me LONG enough.
I have had this book on my TBR for I don’t even know how long. I even have all four of the books that are released in the series. But here I am, taking my time. Sitting around with them taunting me.
But with that being said… WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?
I read this book as a buddy read with my Ohio BookTok Babes Discord group, and it was a rollercoaster ride for sure. Some of the other people in the group are already done with the third book, and some even the fourth!
And here I am, not even having started the second.
(I’m a bad bookworm, just ignore me).
Okay, but really, let me get into the review portion of this blog post, and end my self loathing and rambling.
This book was a gigantic Twilight spin-off cheese fest.
AND I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.
But really, it was fantastic and I loved it immensely. It definitely had Twilight vibes to it, but I can’t believe I’m saying this… I liked it way more than Twilight. Jaxon Vega > Edward Cullen. I SAID WHAT I SAID. Even Grace was more enjoyable than Bella. There was no Charlie Swan though, so rip those fans.
Don’t get me wrong, I will always love Twilight for the nostalgia, but if they made a movie franchise out of the Crave series, I wouldn’t be mad.
This book doesn’t only contain vampires and werewolves, but several other paranormal species, that I can’t name 😏 you’ll just have to read to find out 😈
Here is the official blurb:
“The one you crave is the one who could get you killed.
The moment she steps foot inside, Grace knows there is nothing normal about Katmere Academy, or the students in it. Her uncle’s exclusive and secretive boarding school is the last place she wants to be, but after the tragic deaths of both of her parents, she is left with no choice.
It’s not long before she discovers that she has entered a world like nothing she has ever known. Shapeshifters, witches and vampires roam the halls, existing in uneasy cooperation, a fragile web of alliances the only thing keeping them from war. As the lone mortal, the only thing Grace is sure of is that she doesn’t belong.
Then she meets Jaxon Vega, a vampire with deadly secrets who hasn’t felt anything for a hundred years. Something in him calls to Grace — something that could spell her death.
Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And as Grace is drawn further under his spell, she begins to wonder: did she come to Katmere by accident, or was she brought here . . . as bait?”
If you’re like me and haven’t yet read this book, get on it, ASAP.
Book 5, Charm comes out November 8th, 2022, and Cherish will be released May 30th, 2023. She’s even writing a spin-off series that comes out November 7th 2023! (Brb excited as heck already)
