DO YOU DARE? BY LYLAH JAMES: Review

This is a really slow burn book, but the kind of slow burn that you are going to definitely love! Of course youโ€™ll be impatient and frustrated at times, but what great slow burn story doesnโ€™t?

So they start as enemies, and this is the best part of the book if you ask me.
Maddox was a total asshole, a really popular and hot one. Since the beginning he wanted Lila, the way he chased her, their bickering and banter made all this book more entertaining than I thought it would be. I loved that Lila was really hard to get and always fought back.

At the beginning you see Maddox as the typical popular, rich, jock and manhole, but he was so much more than that. He was so charming and sweet that its impossible not to love him.

At some point they decide that they are way better at friends than enemies, but most of the time they had to fight their sexual tension and thatโ€™s the part that made me frustrated most of the time but at the same time I was ALL FOR IT. They wanted each other but they didnโ€™t want to risk their friendship.

โ€œFriends?โ€ I asked, showing him my pinky. It was something so silly to do, but it was us. He grinned and hooked his finger around mine. โ€œFriends.โ€

After three years of being โ€œbest friendsโ€, they FINALLY started to accept that they want more, and at this point I was so freaking happy cause they were going to be together after so much time, BUT this is when their fear of losing their friendship and each other came back in full force and they start to fight their attraction AGAIN. My god you guys stop it and do it already.

I didnโ€™t need a girlfriend. Lila Garcia was already the best thing in my life.

Good thing is, that after some back and forth they go to Paris and finally decided to give their relationship a try, and when you think HELL YEAH finally they are together and everything is fine BOOM cliffhanger.

So, to say that this book is a little frustrating would be the understatement of the year, but it’s so worth it that you are going to love every second of it.
